Geotextile Testing Facilities

Understanding the therory of improvement through diversification; GTL has taken the decision to expand its current scope of activities in the field of Textile testing. As a priliminary to this GTL has invested in a low capacity Universal Testing Machine; screw driven; which is capable to perform various tensile, compression and flexural tests on Textiles; Plastics; Rubber, etc.. Not only the UTM machine; additional equipments to cater the local requirements for the industrial application textiles Viz. Geotextiles; Membranes etc are also been installed at GTL.

With the introduction of this new machine; GTL is currently capable to perform tests on

(1) Plastics  : Tensile and Flexural Testing

(2) Rubber  : tests in accordance with ASTM D 412, D 624, BS 903, ISO 34, ISO 37 and other customer specified standards

(3) Water Proofing Membranes and PVC water stops - BS 6319, ASTM D 412, ASTM D 638, BS 2782 and UEAtc test methods.

(4) Geotextile Testing in accordance with various ASTM, BS, BS EN and UEAtc Standards

(5) Mortar Briquette tensile in accordance with BS 6319 part 7

(6) Unconfined compressive strength of intact rock cores

(7) Special attachments with the machine helps to conduct 3 or 4 point bending tests on various materials with special displacement transducer to measure the modulus of elasticity.

(8) The laser extensometer (non contact) attached with the machine is used to measure the extension without touching the material.

 

The machine is automated and all the outputs can be received using the computer installed with the versatile Horizon software.
